"I have been flying in the French Alps for a few years, slowly expanding my comfort zone around Sisteron focusing on safety first of all. Being a flat-land pilot from Denmark, mountains offer a new world of soaring to me, but the lack of out landing possibilities and sometimes the rapid change of weather conditions in the mountains, have always made me careful and I never thought I would do x-country soaring in the Alps. However, last year, in 2017, I was part of a group of Danish pilots who went to Sisteron. We were all eager to be better pilots and learn more about the Alps. To do that, we brought our own Duo Discus and hired Serge to be our instructor for two weeks. He was in the back seat of the Duo every day and we all flew with him for some days. It was by far the most challenging experience all of us have ever had. Although our skill levels were very different, Serge managed to challenge us exactly where we needed it. All of us had flights with Serge we will never forget and that moved our perception and understanding of mountain soaring. During the end of our stay, Serge made daily individual x-country tasks for us and we actually started flying tasks in the Alps. I would never have come this far without the help I got from Serge. I also know that I have so much more to learn and when possible, I will be back and I will definitely fly with Serge again."
